I had ordered a business shirt online from a well established English tailor at a price not able to be matched in Australia for a non iron shirt (the only ones I buy now). But the size was wrong and it was going to cost more than half the price of the shirt to send it back.

So I emailed them and they kindly extended the 30 day return period so that I could go in person to one of their shops to exchange it.

So on landing in Belfast we headed in our hire car, to the shop on the ‘May Day’ holiday and found them open. I handed over the very well travelled shirt, explained the story and they helped me find the right fit, swapped the shirt and measured me up. The guy even wrote my sizing down for me for future orders because it is cheaper to order them online and have them delivered to Australia than it was to buy them right there in £, and besides I had no space to take them!

Impressive!

Next stop was the mobile phone shop because my phone had not been connecting properly when charging. No appointment, full shop, found a guy and he had a dig in the charge slot and pulled out a stack of fluff – problem solved.

Both jobs done in half an hour and we went on our way. All the while we chatted with the guys about the irony of them working on the ‘May Day ‘public Holiday and the wonderful raining 9’ weather we were enjoying! Great job guys.
