TWL (Today We Learned) that Londonderry (Derry) has a long history from a monastery founded in 546AD.
The city wall was built in the early 1600’s and had never been breached, with most of it remaining intact today.
It had become re fortified during the more recent Troubles.
And today was a pleasant day as we wandered along the top of the wall checking out the cannons built in 1642 and hearing about the history of the town.
